Default Clear Headlight Shell (Lens?)

There is dust in my headlights from when I drilled the hole for my strobe lights. (I'm an idiot.)

I fabbed up a coathanger + cloth method for getting the majority of it out, but its really hard going through the headlight hole.

How can I take off the clear shell on the front of the headlight? It looks to be melted on.

Many lights are sealed together and if you heat them up, as in put them in the oven, you can soften the sealant enough to pry them apart. Usually you heat the lens pry back a few clips and pry the light apart. I believe I've heard of people doing this at the 150/warm setting. I'm sure others will chime in as to what temp to do this at.
People seperating glass lenses heat them at the lowest setting (150/warm on mine) for 45 min. this is with a GLASS assembly.

Good luck

Just did this to my Alero this weekend (plastic lens)...15 minutes at 170F. Then pryed em apart...pretty easy really. Be sure to clean out all the old silicon or glue and re-silicone them well when you're done to prevent moisture from entering.

Well it sucks that I'm going to be putting my headlights in the oven, but I have to do it.

Thank you!
