Default AIT sensor?

What is an AIT sensor and where is it located on 1998 SW2?
There is a G Force performance chip website, claiming 4-7 mpg and up to 60 Hp increase if I purchase their $69 chip. Any thoughts, hype or truth?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Intake Air Temperature sensor -I think it's in the bottom of the airbox - at least that's where it is on the car I pulled the connector off of (for a spare ECTS connector)

I'm gonna say "half-truth" - retarding the timing can get you a few mpg at the cost of some power, and technically, -10 HP falls within "up to 60 HP increase" because you can "increase" power by a negative number.

sort of like the vendor that said, "I never said your HP would actually increase, I just said that the chip is tuned for maximum HP"

It takes serious magic mojo to increase both fuel economy and power at the same time. Those are opposing goals... you can increase performance at a cost to economy or increase economy at a cost in performance (there are some exceptions, like adding an extra gear - 6 spd vs 5 spd, etc) but from a chip (or adding water - excuse me, hydrogen and oxygen), etc., not happening.

...

IAT sensor is in the "horn" in the front of the air box, where air first enters the engine's airway.

This "chip" _may_ give you a few more HP. It's ONE resistor, probably worth about a dollar.
