Default Uggh Leaking Washer Fluid

I've had a leak in my washer fluid system for some time. I thought it was the pump that was leaking but discovered today its actually the plastic connector from the hose to the nipple on the pump that is leaking.

2 questions for the group:

1. Its the connector for the *black* nipple that is leaking. Anyone know if this one is for the front or rear wiper?

2. You can buy a replacement hose but its not obvious if it comes with the connectors. You don't seem to be able to by them separately. Anyone know or replaced these before?

Tried some black electrical tape over the connector but that was pretty much useless to stop the leak. What a pain in the rear, thought this would be an easy swap out of the pump.

Sounds like the same problem I was having. I went to the auto part store and bought some plastic weld. Removed the tube from the connector nipple and cleaned it off, added some of the weld around the nipple, put the tube back on and let it cure for a day or two. Havenít had a leak come from it yet.

A few years ago, the leaky washer fluid on my Astra was simply because the rubber hose popped off. Took 2 seconds to reconnect and no problems since.

Doesn't help original poster but might help others.

I've got a leak since winter so trying to figure where it comes from.

I saw blue around the tank so suspect it is a bad fitting by the pump. . .

Leak is very fast now.

There are two elbows coming off the water pump near the bottom of the tank. They are easy to access under the bumper without removing anything.

It looks like the front-most elbow is leaking at the pump connection but it is difficult to tell. I don't notice any cracks in the elbow or the pump housing. If I remove the elbow and block the pump outlet with my finger, no dripping; so not likely the pump.

A few Euro guys had broken elbows or that hose broke a few centermetres upwards. It's an odd rippled hose covering so difficult to diagnose.

Attempted fix: I disconnected the hose, applied some industrial silicone to outside of pump connection only, reinserted hose. Now waiting 12 hours for silicone to cure & fill with tap water.

Good news- So removing the elbow from the pump, applying a bit of good silicone to the pump nipple, putting the elbow back on the pump and letting the silicone set overnight seems to have worked.

I filled the washer tank. Tested front & back wipers and see no liquid dripping from or accumulating around the pump.
