Default Rear transmission mount: 1991 SC

I thought I had a rattle in the catalytic converter. The muffler shop showed me it was 'transferred noise' from the rear tranny mount. I could see the the rubber insert moving back and forth quite a bit as they revved the engine. I spent the whole day trying to locate a new part, but it's been discontinued because they only made them for one year. No after-market supplier could be found. The thing is right next to the exhaust pipe--no wonder it dried up and shrank. One from a junk yard would probably be as bad. Here's a pic:

So, does anybody know a way to fix this? Maybe some other rubber insert that fits in the race? How about squirting some 3M Window-weld urethane around the ate up rubber cushion? Other ideas?

After looking a little closer, the rattle was coming from the exhaust coupler at the end of the down pipes. A couple turns of the nut to tighten the spring on one side was all it took to stop it. BUT that slop in the tranny mount has me concerned. Has anybody tried to use urethane in any of their mounts to tighten them up economically? If not, why not? What could it hurt?

I learn from my experiences. If I screw up, I'm sorry.
