I have a 1997 SL1. I got it because I needed a cheap car, and I saw that it got great gas mileage.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I have a 1995 SL2. Currently in the process of making it an enthusiast car. Five speed and sunroof are what make it worth the cheap price of 1500 that I got it for.

1996 SL1
Default Re: S-Series Owners- Sign In Here!

I have a 1996 SL1. I bought it used last year. Best car I've ever owned! Never have had a major problem with it, except for the routine changes (oil, spark plugs). It has 152K and still running strong! Like other posters here, I'll drive this car until it all falls apart!

Default 1994 Sc2

bought it new. loved it new. been through 176,000 miles, 2 paint jobs, 3 deer, 1 goose (yes, a goose), countless birds and other small (and might i add fast) creatures, 3 other vehicles, and a rollover. Still runs. Still loved. When i die, I want to be buried in my Saturn.

I am a proud owner of a '98 SL2 with 169,000 miles.
I"ve done tune ups, oil changes, changed ECTS and Thermostat.
Car looks and runs great.

I did put a rebuilt tranny in it at 105,000 miles because I got into a dangerous
situation in a snow storm and 'rocked' it back and forth to avoid a dangerous
mountain cliff. So if that hadn't of happened the transmission wouldn't have been replaced-well my life's worth it though.

I am sorry Saturn discontinued the SL2's they are great cars and the only thing I'm afraid about is that the cataylic converter. How long can it last?
I have no problems with it now what preventative maintenance, if any, can I
do to prolong it's life?

I plan on buying another used SL2 in the near future.

Gerard
