Default Re: Thinking about replacing my AURA. Chevy Cruze?

The Regal is a great car, as is the Verano. In fact, I work at a Buick dealer and I parked our latest Verano to come in next to the Regals, and they are within inches of each other.

Regarding the Cruze, if you want a manual and are looking to spend between $23 or so, I think the Cruze Eco would be a great bet.

I test drove the Verano and Cruze Eco back to back and I found the Verano to be very sedate, where the Cruze was a little more driver oriented. Out of the two cars, I would take the Eco, 10mpg better on the highway and it was more fun to drive.

Or if you can wait until October or so when the Verano Turbo is scheduled to debut, you could get it with a 6-speed manual and 250 hp out of a revised 2L, if the news from GMI is correct.

The Verano Turbo is what I plan to replace my Ion with in a couple of years. Since it has a late 2012 release date and I dislike being an unwilling beta tester, I'll wait til after another year passes to let others find and fix the flaws and then I will shoot for a 2014 model. Even though the current 2.4L engine puts out more power and torque than the version I have (180/171 vs. 170/162), the Verano tips the scales at ~600 pounds heavier than my Ion, making its performance too sedate for me.

The Cruze ECO model is an intriguing choice if you can't or don't want to wait but still want to be frugal.

Default Re: Thinking about replacing my AURA. Chevy Cruze?

Hello everyone, thanks for all of the comments.

I really do love the Regal.

However, I have decided to buy a CPO 2009 BMW 328i Xdrive. I was eligible for the BMW College Graduate Program, so I got a great deal on both the car and the financing. I've always wanted a Bimmer, so I pulled the trigger.

It's a nice car in Monaco Blue Metallic with Beige leather, 6-spd manual, iDrive, premium package, cold weather package, logic 7 sound, v-spoke wheels, etc. I'm excited.

I certainly intend to do so. I'm really excited about my BMW, but I've really enjoyed my SATURN(s), and I'm not getting rid of my various Saturn gifts and accessories.

I'm going to keep the legacy going, even though I don't have one.

My AURA is being picked up by it's new owner tomorrow.

My BMW is still on a truck somewhere in the country.
