![]() I have a 95 SL2 I am working on for a friend. She complained of a check engine light "and some other light" that she didn't remember, coming on intermittently.
Plugging the ALDL A&B pins together gives me code 11 on the check engine light, and code 23 on the coolant level/temp high light on the other side of the dash. Code 11 looks like a transmission code but I can't find what code 23 on the coolant level/temp high light means. Hopefully it tells me more about what transmission fault is being reported. Can anyone shed some light on this? Hopefully she does not have a major trans issue, I got rid of my 93 SL2 with less than 90k miles on it because after replacing the valve body twice I was never able to resolve harsh 1-2 part throttle upshifts. ![]() Thank you for that info. No 3rd gear, holy crap. That's not good. I have a spare reman valve body but I am sure as heck not going to change another TAAT valve body with an unsure probability of fixing anything.
The only things I can think of are to check the adjustment on the range selector, and to check to make sure the multi-pin plug that goes to the valve body, is not corroded or full of fluid. ... Rides: 2004 Ford Taurus SEL 2003 Mercury Marauder 1988 Chevy K1500 1976 Pontiac Firebird
