I took my '02 L200 in to check out the air bag trouble light, and they told me they went ahead and did the campaign for the tail lights while it was in there. I haven't gotten the letter yet and didn't even know there was a rear ligh problem. Bad news was they want $616 to install a new module for the airbag, but they could not say for sure if the airbag would work or not in a crash. I declined the module replacement.

If the lights on they dont work and there is even the possiblity of it deploying at random.

That would be very bad. Possibly life threatening if it hit you right.

The dealer did mine when my 2001 L300 was in last week to replace a bad solenoid in the transmission. No letter yet, though.

I got my letter the other day, but my saturn was in for a check like a week ago, so they already fixed it. I didn't even know about a recall ^___~* I love my Saturn techs.

i got pulled over for my rear brake light out last night... for the 2nd time this yr.(last time was superbowl sunday) the officer was very nice and just said "ok, well if there is a recall on it, then your fine, have a good thanksgiving." he didn't even take my license and registration back to his car to run. so tomorrow after work i have to contact my dealer, even though i haven't received the recall letter yet.

I got my recall notice after they fixed it which offered to be re-imbursed if I had to pay, but I didn't. My notice says its for CERTAIN 2000-2002 Saturn LS and 2000-2004 Saturn LW, so it applied to my 2001 L200. Hope this helps.

I got mine and they replaced the rear taillight assemblies and bulbs right there on the spot. Good as new now.

You could always just go in to the dealer and ask - the whole process only takes a few minutes to do, so they may just do it on the spot, and you don't have to wait for the letter...
