I just purchased this 97 SC2, 136,000 miles on it and it has a slight problem. Typical day driving: When car is cold not a problem with any acceleration or shifting hesitations. When the car warms up about 10-15 minutes later, shifting is no problem but there is a slight hesitation in all gears when the idle drops between 1800-2400 rpm. After it gets past the hesitation point the car runs strong until I shift. Another food for thought is that if I keep my foot down on the accelerator when shifting the car runs throught the gears without a single bit of hesitation. This car has me stumped and need some guru about saturns to help me finger this one out.

How clean is your air filter? If it looks clean then that is not the problem, but if it looks very dirty, it is making your engine short on air. My SC2 had a dirty air filter and made mine very hesitant on the low end. Then I put a nice K&N air filter in it and then it no longer hesitated.
