Default Electronics chaos

Hello,
I have a question regarding door locks. It seems that recently my door lock button will not lock the doors, it will unlock them only. If I am in the VUE the little chime goes off but the doors will not lock and then sometimes the panic horn/lights go off. The doors are all secure including the back hatch as well. Any clues?

Some months ago, my VUE suddenly showed similar symptons. Turned out to be the plunger rod of the driver's door pin switch near the door hinges. The closed door didn't depress the plunger far enough, so the computer thought I was driving around with the door open and alerted the security system. The fix was to shim the driver's door pin switch out a bit. Worth checking.

Cool! I looked closer and found that the little cheap plastic plunger stick on the passenger side is broken clean off. I am taking it in Monday for oil change so hopefully this should fall under warranty. Now I just have to find out why my front door speakers crackle on bumps. They are aftermarkets with good connections and everything.

I think it is the wiring. I used Monster insulated wire in all my other speakers and then we ran out. The guy that was helping me insisted that we use this scrap wire (I think it came from a vacuum cleaner power cord). I played with it by the amp and it crackles whenever it gets close to any other wire. So it looks like I will be R&Ring the bad and putting the good stuff in.

IMO that stuff is overrated. I used the stock wiring when i put in 4 polk Audio 6.5's and 1" tweets. I cant tell the difference. Only Monster wire i used was when i installed the amp and 10" sub because the kit was only a few bucks more than the generic wiring kit.

But using scrap wire from a vacuum cleaner cord? Thats just plain ghetto. Smack your buddy next time you see him!!! He try and talk you into wrapping your radio antenna in foil for better reception?

I'm shopping for a VUE and this is one of the items that I noted was *really* cheap on the car - the door switch that is.

Looks like a 1 year item, maybe 2.

Close second is the dimmer for the lights.

Overal I like the car alot though. Will be buying one this week.
