Default voltage drop when increasing RPMs to 3K

HI: I have a 2001 SW2 that has an intermittent battery light coming on for a second or two. I measured my battery voltage under varying conditions and it seems to be ok:

Engine off: 12.7v
Engine on - no load 14.6
Engine on - lights, etc. 14.5

I put on a new Serpentine belt a few months ago (gatorback) and the tension seems to be fine. The strange part is that when I rev the engine to around 3K, the voltage drops to 13.7v and stays there until I stop reving the engine. Does this voltage drop indicate a problem with my alternator?

thanks
