I remember this well - the earlier cars were sponsored by Valvoline. I still have official Saturn posters that the local dealer never put up on their walls...

I may still have one of the big bore throttle bodies they had on one of their cars sitting around somewhere.

I have a t-shirt from the event. Hoping that Penske allows for (funds) Saturn to participate in more charitable events like this in the future.

D'oh! -- I made the mistake of washing the t-shirt that Dave Rosenblum autographed and his signature washed off. I have two posters of their 91-92 SC and 95-96 SC2.

I managed to pick up a set of the rims they had on the cars they took to car shows and dealerships (OZ Evolutions). The race cars used Revolution racing rims - I was very close to getting a set of them as well.

I've also "driven" one of the old ICY cars... well, steered it as it was towed around a parking lot...

I remember meeting david and checking out his race car. Very cool to jump into SCCA racing and helping inner city kids!

Just for fun I googled Saturn ICY Racing and found this link.. Then I had to upload a few pictures from my garage... Haven't been here in awhile, hope all those who remember my name are well. Also should be on the lookout for a host of rather rare Saturn items to come into the marketplace soon. Currently sorting and taking pictures, but will post full details in a month or so.

Deebs.

It looks a little forlorn, laying on its belly like that. Awesome that it's been in a conditioned space all this time.

LOL - "EDS" sticker....

Is that a '70-ish Mach 1 behind it?

It's actually on wooden roll around dollies so it's not on the ground. But forlorn does describe it.. For several years the prior owner had it outside, we've kept it safely inside since we picked it up a few years back. It is a curious beast, since it was very state of the art World Challenge car at the time it was built and now would end up being a solid Club Racing car. The current generation of World Challenge cars are all $200K+ animals and very far from the simple basics of the class back in the 1990's.

That's a 65 Mustang in the background. A friend is storing it there, so I'm not sure on many more details.

Wow man, nice score there. When you got it was it a full car with the engine or trans, or just a basic shell of what is left? I'll be keeping watch for those items if they happen to be some of the special stuff of the ICY car
