Wrench moonroof

This is a wierd one. I have a 2004 Vue V6 FWD with the factory moonroof. I thought there was a vent feature. When I had it in for the recall and some other work I asked how the vent feature works with the moonroof. The service rep told me Saturn discontinued the vent feature in 2004. My daughter came home after borrowing my Vue and I noticed the rear of the moonroof was up in the vent position. She has no idea how she did it. The manual says you push up on the window for vent. This doesn't work either. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure how the 2004 operates...on the 2003, the button used for the sunroof/moonroof slides forward and back and also tilts up. Put your thumb on the button and instead of sliding the switch back, tilt it up. Also, as you look at the button, apply pressure on the part of the button that faces the rear of the car. It will probably take a few tries to "see" how the buttons operates.

From the 2003 to the 2005 at least, the reversed the button. I think OhioVUEBoy already agrees with me, but this is less intuitive than it was on the 03. I know I didn't exactly answer your question, but it was already answered I think by scotted73

Correct. This is a design that was borrowd from Mercedes. All of this is covered in the owner's manual, by the way.

strange... I have an '04 FWD V6 Vue with the moonroof... my "vent" feature works fine. Instead of sliding the switch back, as you would to open it, you just rotate it about its hinge. Took me a while to figure out, but just fiddle with it & you'll get the hang of it. Definitely not very intuitive tho...

You push up to vent, pull down to close. Seems intuitive to me

Same here... First time I touched it, I popped it open to "vent" position. On the other hand, my girlfriend spent 10 minutes jacking with it after that trying to figure out how I did it, and she's a very intelligent girl, soooo, I dunno. Maybe what's intuitive to some is a mystery to others. The way the button moves mimmicks the motion of the window. That's why I guessed that it would move that way. The way the manual reads seemed pretty straightforward.

Just play around with it, you won't break it.

Wrench Re: moonroof

What bothers me is that Saturn techs told me they removed the vent feature on the 2004-05.

Don't forget about the "express open" ability in the switch, too...that was one of my happiest moments when I found that in the manual. (I'm easily amused).
