Default wrong oil filter

Just got my oil changed and noticed on my invoice that the dealer used GM part # 9192426 for the oil filter. I have a couple of spare filters at home and know that the correct part # is 93185674.
A little searching reveals that the filter they fitted is a tiny bit wider internally and overall about 20mm shorter in height.
Anyone know if I can get away with keeping this filter on without oil flow problems??

I would take it back and tell them to use the correct filter and if they say that they did, but the invoice is wrong, I'd make them prove it. 20mm is pretty significant on such a small filter.

Probably a simple "part number change-up". Happens all the time in both the OEM and aftermarket worlds when they realize that either a) they already have an 99% identical filter under a different number, or b) they've modified the factory filter somehow and have to sell v2.0 under a different part number. The original part number will likely continue to be sold until the stock is completely diminished, at which point you will have no choice in the matter. The person behind the parts counter will most likely tell you that the number changes up, which means that the new # "officially" replaces the old one and you've got nothing to worry about.

Turns out the filter part # installed is the correct filter for a number of other GM of Europe products - 3.0 V6 in the Catera, CTS, Saturn L300. Also would work on a previous generation Astra (Astra G 1998-2003) with a 1.8 litre.
Called dealership about it, they said to bring it back for them to install the correct filter...

See, its stuff like this that makes me do my own work. I HATE taking my car to the dealership unless I 100% have to. I just don't understand how they can be so sloppy or make such an error. Its not like this is joe-bob's value lube shop, these are official shops.

I had a 94 SL2 that had the odometer stop on it. By law, I can't touch it.
I took it in to get fixed, and not only did it cost $700+ to replace, but it was with a USED cluster unit. The first unit they installed was also defective. After they ordered and installed the second one, they didn't even tighten the wires correctly, so it would cut in and out.

It just burns me up that they can do this crap. GM sent me a card good for 4 free oil changes on my Astra, but I don't plan on using it.
