Default Code POA37

Anyone with information on this code? This is my 2007 Vue Green Line with 92,000 miles. Chevy dealer says it means "Module Starter/Generator Control - Replace," but of course says it may be something else causing the error which would not be covered under the hybrid warranty. What else could possibly be causing this error? Additionally, the last time this dealer worked on the Vue was for the last battery recall. Well, they reassembled everything improperly, causing negative voltages, voltage drops and error codes galore, which necessitated taking everything apart again and reassembling it correctly. Within two months, the battery control module failed, most likely due to the reverse polarity voltages when the battery pack was incorrectly hooked up. So, now I'm wondering if this control module, or the starter/generator itself, could be an additional casualty of this error. As an aside, since the battery pack, and then the battery control module, were replaced, the hybrid system has worked poorly ... the needle on the charge assist rarely moves to indicate any charge (it moves when assisting), i can't manage two consecutive stop lights and have the auto stop last through both, etc. Thanks for any info you might have.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

I've attached a few service manual extracts ... I doubt if they add much to your knowledge base - you seem to have your arms around the situation.

There's one other wiring diagram which slightly exceeds forum post limits.

Send an email address by PM if you'd like to see that diagram - or any of others referenced in attached.

File Type: pdf 07 Vue - GL Strtr-Gen Description.pdf (15.4 KB, 48 views)
File Type: pdf 07 Vue - GL Wiring 1.pdf (112.6 KB, 37 views)

...
I try to visit forum often but suggest you use private messages if in a rush (comes to cell) and include email address for extracts. I seldom check visitor messages so please don't use.

Very strange...sounds like your dealer really hosed things up. I can't imagine a situation where that code would be related to anything outside of the hybrid system--seems like this is likely a warranty item. How close are you to another GM service center that will perform Saturn warranty work? These cars are mysteries to some service centers, I guess...

Thanks for the commentary from both of you. I have looked through the attachments you provided far2grumpy and will be visiting the dealer tomorrow. If things don't go well, I will certainly take your advice tackepj and investigate the next-closest dealer ... it kind of stinks that the closest ones are at least an hour-and-a-half away in different directions. Oh well ... I still love my Saturns.
