Just recently my front suspension has started to Creek & Groan on the smallest bumps.

Yah, big time noise from my front end !? The cold weather here in the Big Apple shrunk my front bumper and rattles like I broke my suspension!? When I parked at work I looked around and found nothing broken or loose but when I grabbed the fake bumper it was loosey-goosey as if all the fasteners fell off. I've had this for the last two weeks in the morning drive. Later in the afternoon the noise is gone. Makes me wanna caulk around the spaces to stop the rattling. Plastic fantastic!?

Caulk- The handyman's second secret weapon. Silicone caulk is magic stuff, just check that is does not wreck the paint. Also it needs to be warm outside to work, RTV the R is for room temperature.

![]() ![]() BTW, I seem to have trouble squeezing caulking out the tube. Would it be because its been in the unheated garage (in freezing temperatures) or that its past its freshness date from not using it since '72? ![]() |

L-series making creaking noises when cold from the rear bushings on the front subframe. I'd bet 90% that's your problem. You need special tools to press the bushings in and out unless you removed the entire subframe.

Spray a light lubricant on the bushings. If the noise temporarily goes away, you found the problem.

Have it checked out. I had one rear spring broken before which was replaced. Latest was that front springs are broken too. That explained all the harsh ride I was getting. I had a huge repair on my hands which involved replacing struts/shocks/bushings/springs... Ofcourse traded it now but my new ride hasnt arrived yet. My last week with L300. Sigh...
