Default Rear lateral link bolt???

Im trying to hunt down a rear lateral link bolt / knuckle bolt. not having any luck.

It seems many have had this same issue but i couldn't find a solution.

Proper diameter rod and thread the ends as required, in other words --you make one.

Which end? The easy to replace cradle end or the "where'd I leave the oxy torch" knuckle end?
The big one is pn 21012067 and unless you get lucky like I did they're $20-$25ea. M14x2.00x300mm (the 300mm is a guess, might be longer/shorter...try to measure yours)
The smaller ones are 21011888 and 21010362, not sure what size they are.

Only one of the numbers isn't discontinued so your best bet will be taking whatever scrap of threaded bolt/nut you can and a length measurement to Fastenel, or even the hardware store to use their bolt-size thingy...Fastenel will be able to order a bolt, I'll be very surprised if they have a comparable bolt in 10.9 (or SAE equivlent) in stock.

There is no SAE diameter that is a direct metric equivalent. Must be metric. Put a nut on both ends.

Note: OP's query is in regard to "rear lateral link bolt / knuckle bolt. not having any luck.

Fetch, are you sure about the 300mm ? 300mm/25.4 = 11.81 " typo maybe ?

Cheers ... jw

Yeah, I got curious enough about that bolt length that I took a peek. There is a fairly long one in there, over 8" by my quick measurement. Isn't this an ideal candidate for JY shopping?

Metric bolts in grade 10.9 and a length of 300 mm can be found at McMaster-Carr. JY is the first place to go though unless you are in the rust belt. If it is rusted in place removal can be downright hateful.

Wish I could find the thread where I posted the right size >.<
I think it was closer to 250mm, either in actual size or Fastenel's nearest longer length.
Found a GM parts dealer that appears to have the factory bolt, no idea what'll happen once you try to checkout with it: http://www.gmpartsonline.net/part-nu...hText=21012067

Thank you fetchitfido for the link! i ordered one, im still half expecting to get an email saying they dont have any, but im hoping this works.

Ill try a threaded rod if all else fails.

thank you OldNuc for all of the specs.

as far as a junkyard goes, i do indeed live in the rusty rust belt. and considering i still haven't gotten mine out (replacing the knuckle anyways due to extreme rust) i don't want to spend a cold morning in the junkyard that dosnt allow torches.

McMaster is usually what I would have recommended, too; but I don't think they have any listings for M14 over 180mm. A 9/16" could also probably work, but no McM listings for that over 6".

Thumbs Up Re: Rear lateral link bolt???

Due to the fact this OEM GM Part # has been discontinued, I did some research:

I just removed my lateral link bolt from the below year, model & make vehicle and made the following measurements:

1996 Saturn SC1 SOHC Bolt that attaches the REAR Lateral Link to wheel Knuckle & FRONT Lateral Link & was measured as being:

-The top of bolt or head measures 21mm across and is 6 sided.
-From bolt head to end is precisely 225mm in length.
-The threaded area of bolt length from nut tip is 65mm depth until smoothed area of bolt begins,
-which smoothed bolt surface length is 150mm.
The bolt head is approx 10mm in depth or thickness toward nut or thread end
-The bolt smoothed surface width or thickness was "eye-balled" at 13mm
(This is smoothed shaft part of the bolt that enters through the REAR Lateral Link, then through knuckle then exits at the FRONT Lateral Link.)

Please share source if you've located one somewhere on this forum as I've been unsuccessful. I did find a few companies that will sell "ROD" with these dimensions with threaded ends on both sides but I'm still looking specifically for this bolt...

Hope this helps those seeking this bolt if replacement is necessary.

Need the overall length from under the head to end and body diameter. I think the overall length is 215mm and body diameter is 13mm but body diameter MUST be measured. Clean off head face and what 2 or 3 numbers are on it?

It sounds like it is a 14mm bolt and Fastenall has something that should work.
