Default New Suspension for a 97 SC-2?

I'm thinking of putting new front and rear suspension on my 97 SC-2. It has 103,000 New York City miles on it.
I haven't noticed any problems like a shaky ride and it seems to pass the bounce test. On really bad streets I notice a kind of a clank sound when going over rough spots.

Should I wait until I notice something more profound or just go ahead and replace the old suspension?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

based on the mileage, I would replace the struts and the strut mounts.

I'd do a complete inspection of the suspension and engine compartment first to identify the sound and worn/broken/corroded parts parts. Can you tell where the sound is coming from? Does it make a difference whether or not you are applying the brakes? Does it make a difference whether you are accelerating or not? Is the sound speed sensitive? Can you feel anything or do you just hear the sound? Among the things to look for are:

- Damaged or missing rubber bushings
- Leaking shocks/struts
- Broken or loose parts
- Heavy corrosion
