Default Leaning toward Green

I'm 99% sure that I'll purchase our second Saturn in less than 90 days on Thursday. Our first was a beautiful Medium Blue LW300 Wagon that we love...and next will most likely be the controversial Medium green Vue. What do current Vue owners consider must haves besides the standard fare?

My answer would be whatever you feel you want to have on the car. Me, I kept mine as basic as I could, while still getting my "needs", basically cruise control and A/C. Of course getting those two items required getting the rest of the power package.

I like the VTi trans alot. In fact, I drove a co workers Suzuki XL-7 when we all went to lunch tonight. A conventional automatic feels strange to me now, with the sound of the engine running up the power band and then the vehicle lurching slightly on a gear change. Even though it was a V6, it felt "held back" to me.

My "must haves" were:

AWD - I plan on doing more summer camping, as well as deer, and elk hunts, I plan on getting a camping trailer so I went for the V6 as well.

6-disc CD - Because I can never get enough music (MP3 option would be nice, wouldn't it?)

Luggage Cross Bars - We once took the SW2 on a camping trip, by the time we got all our gear inside our child could barely fit! Plus it's easier to tie a Xmas Tree on top with the racks in place

I also went with On*Star for peace of mind.

BTW. what's wrong with silver?

I am sure you will be pleased whatever you decide
...
Now a proud Subie owner.

ABS and side curtain air bags. Safety first.

If you are often in a high-theft area, or can get an insurance discount, consider the power package (or an aftermarket security system).

Finally, I consider splash guards (mudflaps) required on any car.

2003 VUE 2.2L
Default

All these replies and I haven't even posted a message stating that I just got my new VUE. Heh.

Well, here was my list of extras...

I opted for the Sports Plus package.. I'd be insane not to.. so I got:

The Power Package ( I was getting it anyway)
The CD player (I might have opted for after market)
Alloy wheels ( I could live without)

I also got the ABS/TC.

In terms of appearance etc. I got the rubber floor mats, the cargo pad and the rear bumper guard (I would highly recommend the guard). I am debating the mud flaps (most likely I will get them) and the rear wind deflector.

I have a FWD 4 Manual. (Paying for VTi didn't seem all that necessary since I prefer manual anyway.)

I opted against head curtain air bags due to the size of the vehicle. In a smaller vehicle that wouldn't have been an option, it would have been a necessity.

I'm going for the sport package, ABS, Side airbags, floor mats and sunroof.

Now I have to choose a color and I'm having a hard time with this as I like both interior colors. I've ruled out Black but it's a toss-up with the rest. I don't like the Blue on the VUE (although it's a nice color). Green was nicer than I thought it would be but I'm still not sure.

Default Fully leaned now...

Picking up my new Green Vue tonight...Power Package, Alloys, and rest of standard fare. At $17,495 is there a better deal out there? This makes our second Saturn purchase in 90 days..thanks to GMAC 0%.

Just be happy if you can find one. I am a sales manager of a Saturn store in central PA and we are taking orders into January. The combination of 0% and the new advertising has our inventory at a 6 month low. Good luck!!!!!!

Are you serious? My dealer quoted me 4-6 weeks, for an deal made Sunday and sent to the factory (after finance approval) Monday. And they certainly had a fair handful on the lot.

Do they ration dealers in a way that could affect things? Being in New England, with a very depressed economy, I can hope that there are fewer sales and thus more likelihood of getting mine on time - but that's just a hope.
