Rear Suspension Lateral Link Recall

Does anyone know if there is a time limit on that lateral link recall... I need an alignment and I do not know if this has been done. Might be a good way to get a free alignment and new parts for my 114k mi 02 saturn. Does anybody know if there are time limits on safety recalls?

Doubt if their is a time limit since it is a safety recall. Check with your local saturn dealer. We brought our Accord in for a seat belt recall 3 years after the notice. Not only did they do the recall but gave us a loaner car. Our Accord was 10 years old.

Be careful with the alignment. I hear in many cases they do not align the wheels. After mine was done the rear end was not handling properly after the recall. I looked at ehe rear end wheels were dished inwards severly. I brought it back to the delaer and they said it was due to their alignment machine that had problems. I doubt the tech did the alignment after he did the recall. They should have called if they knew a problem existed

I had an alignment done after my links were replaced. The alignment shop (not the dealership) had a fit when they saw what was done. The new links were put in so a rear alignment was almost impossible to do correctly. The alignment guys swore the tech put them in wrong. They flipped the parts and could then do the alignment.

That was 60,000 miles ago. I've never had a tire wear problem on my VUE. I do keep it aligned about every 12 k miles.
