2004 VUE 3.6L
Question 2004 VUE Suspension issues

I have a 2004 VUE V6 AWD. At 52,000 miles I had the mount assembly, front strut upper bearing replaced for $200. At 58,000 miles I complained of noise again and they stated the right front lower control arm bushing front sway bar end links were loose so they replaced the links and bushings for $345. Now at 62,000 miles they are telling me that both the front mounts are collapsed and though the struts are not 'bad' that I should think about replacing everything for the tune of $825 not including the allignment that is necessary. Am I getting the shaft here? This is my second Saturn, been going to the same dealer for 7 + years and I am faithful with all maintenance. I usually have NO issues with trusting the dealership BUT the head of maintenance was just sent to another location before I started haveing issues so I am leary. Wouldn't at the very lest the right mount be under warentee if it was just replaced in JUNE or is it likely that it would collapse 10,000 miles after it was installed?

Unfortunately, those all sound like valid problems that could be happening to your car. Especially at those mileages. So far, nothing seems sketchy. The pricing is obviously a little higher than it would be at an independent shop, but its the dealer, this is to be expected.

The struts are not a must-have item right now, but they could definitely be improved upon at that mileage. They could very well be shot at this point.

They're telling you that the strut mounts are "collapsed"? That right there seems rather bizarre. I'm not sure what a "collapsed" strut mount would look like.

Struts do wear out. At 62k miles, it's possible that new struts would improve control. You might want to price having a local shop replace the struts. There's no way you should pay anywhere near that amount for new struts.
