Default Aura brake problem

Aura brake problem

Bought a 2008 Arua XE brakes work normally when purchased. Was told it needed rear brakes the parts came with the car.
Noticed one of the rear calipers was cracked so decided to replace everything. All new calipers, rotors and brakes all around.

Bleed the brake system multiple times as would be done with other cars.

When car is off brake pedal is good

Once you turn the car on brakes drop to floor no pressure

Do Saturns have any special bleeding procedure for the ABS ?

Abs does not alter brake flushing or bleeding procedures as long as brake bleeding is performed with engine off.

Previous to brake repairs, were they working correctly? With engine off. repeated brake pedal application depletes the vacuum boost unit resulting in the pedal firming up indicating only the hydraulic system operating brakes. pedal should be around half way in travel. With engine running, vacuum boost softens pedal as power assisted braking generates additional power. Pedal should not travel to the floor. This is always the baseline of all brake systems.

Ok, baseline brake system worked correctly before repairs. In left hand drive vehicles, flushing/bleeding brake lines are are performed in starting with right rear (farthest from brake master cylinder), then left front. Left rear then right front. This procedure forces any air and old fluid farthest away from the brake master cylinders to allow fresh fluid into the farthest brake caliper with no air going to the opposite caliper. Old fluid is forced out all calipers as dark brown, fresh fluid light honey colored. It's presumed you're using DOT-3 brake fluid. In a dual diagonal brake system with two brake pistons in tandem, each cylinder in the master serves two calipers; right rear/left front, left rear/right front. In case one half fails, the remaining half will help stop a vehicle. Safety design.

If I'm wrong on Aura brake bleeding procedures, refer to Saturn service manuals, ask your local GM dealer, ask a brake repair shop or subscribe to alldata.diy or Mitchell data for online service manuals.
