Roll Eyes Information Center (DIC) Engine temp or Coolant Temp ?

I held the settings button until I heard the chime/beep, then push BC to scroll through items displayed in the engineering/diagnostic mode.

I found an item labelled LCD . Does anyone know what that is ?

I want to be able to look at the coolant temperature or at the engine temperature.

Thank you

Yeah I found that weird that there is no way to check the engine temp. Then again I might just not be looking in the right place for it.

Happy Re: Information Center (DIC) Engine temp or Coolant Temp ?

LCD IS NOT THE COOLANT TEMP : However I still do not know what it is.

There is a screen with a "V" on the bottom left and a "T" on the far right bottom of the display.

When the engine is warmed, the temp seems to stay in a band from 90 degrees C to 93

The "V" is speed or velocity , and I'm not sure what the units are. When you look at this, when the car is parked, it appears that the temperature is labelled "OT", when in fact that really means that V : 0 (zero speed)

My guess is that the V stands for Voltage and the pic on the left shows there is no alternator activity, while the one on the right displays 13.5 volts (which is the actual voltage I get on a voltmeter when the car is running.

the first screen V = velocity which should equal KPH (kilometers per hour). Great for verifying your speedomoter accuracy (expect it to be off by as much as 3mph, thats normal for most german cars).

I have a link to post for this to explain the screens. Im too tired to think off hand what each is for, and its much easier to post the link. Will add it as soon as I find it. Its for the GID (Uplevel display) But is similar functions for the BID (Base level display)

Here you go:

http://translate.google.com/translat...u/test_bk.html

Its been google translated so a few errors but you get the idea. This is for the GID Screen. The BID Screen (Base level one) Is similar, just some things you just dont see as much info if I remember correctly. I took pics of my BID test mode before changing my screen to my GID so I will take a look at them later after Ive slept and can think lol and will compare
