2003 VUE 3.0L
Default 05 L300 - Need bug/rock hood shield

Our 2005 L300 has 24,000 miles and its fair share of chips and pits from road rocks and the such. Ive looked everywhere and cannot find a bug shield/hood protector/deflector for the L series hood. Im not looking for the "LeBra" type that ruins your hood, Im looking for the hard black plastic type that clips on.
I checked 2 local Saturn dealers here in Metro Detroit and they only sell the faux leather "lebra" type. Ive seen a L series on ebay for sale once with a hard plastic one so I know they're out there

Does anybody know where I could find one?

I never actually seen one like that, the only ones I've seen besides the ugly black covers are the 3M transparent film that sticks on.

well. Here's something off topic but it's a tip for yuo. To get rid of those chips and holes in yuor paint don't use the touchup paint brush. Use a toothpick instead. Workers a lot better

You should really rethink the black leather cover. Yeah, they're not the best looking things in the world, but the Saturn brand front-end cover for this model is really well designed and, after initial installation, can be put on or taken off in about 5 minutes. I put mine on the L whenever doing highway driving or taking a long-distance trip, then leave it off for around-town driving. After over 32,000 miles, I have precisely 2 rock chips on the front of the car, both on the hood above the cover line (and both touched up, of course). The front end itself is pristine; it looks brand new.

It's not a perfect solution, but it works really well!
