Default Wanting to move to a bigger tire

I don't necessarily want to get rid of my sc2 aluminum wheels as they are in good condition. But id like to get a wider lower profile tire. What are some sizes others have run with good results? I know stock is 195/60r15. I'd like to run a good performance all season tire. What size would you adjust to? Want a better handling feel with better stability. Thanks everyone.

Default Re: Wanting to move to a bigger tire

I'm running aftermarket 16's, but with 225/50's BF Goodrich G-Force Comp 2 tires (WAY overkill spec'ed tire for an SL2 lmao), just about equivalent to a 225/55/15 in size. They're SUPER wide for the small and light SL2, the fronts ever so slightly rub the inner liners at full lock and there's almost no wiggle room between the sidewall and the struts lol, but they do fit. But honestly they're probably too wide for this light weight car. I had the same experience with an S10 that had 225's in the front. The width tends to want to grab and pull the vehicle to one side or the other on bad spots in the road every once in a while. Not bad like it's going to cause a wreck, just noticeable compared to when I had 205's on the same wheels which drove straight as an arrow.

Default Re: Wanting to move to a bigger tire

If you change the tire size, the overall circumference (distance traveled by a single rotation of your tire) changes and your speedometer, your mileage, and your gearing will all be slightly off/different from before.

Smaller tire height means getting to work will take longer.

Can you afford to take that chance?
