2008 AURA XE
Default Aura greenline

Just found this in the online order guide

"All sections-All references to the ZZR69 Green Line model are being temporarily removed from the Vehicle Order Guide while packaging and content changes are being finalized. The ZZR69 Green Line model will be moved into a new "AURA Green Line" Vehicle Order Guide section scheduled for release on 10/22/07. "

Not sure how this will impact those who have placed orders for 2008...

That's just in relation to where things are typed on the ordering guides...

Anyone have any info or links to info dealing with the new BAS-II system? I've only seen one little blip about it but nothing detailed. Just says it relies on NiMH batteries that are not even available yet and a bigger motor generator.

I found the reason for the changes to the order guide are to break out the hybrids (VUE and Aura) as their own model (instead of being a trim line) so that Saturn can control the allocation to each retailer. Apparently retailers basically could have unlimited orders of any Aura trim line, and some where hogging all the hybrids, while other retailers couldn't get any.

I was told that each retailer will be given so many hybrids, and they cannot special order them. They will get whatever Saturn gives them.

The changes to the order guide won't affect the car, just the way it is ordered.

Li-ion batteries, actually. The batteries are ready (they've been in power tools for a while now) and will be tested very early next year for use in the Volt. BAS-II will use a lower capacity of these larger/higher voltage battery packs (the current 36V doesn't get you much after the engine restart) and will be able to assist the engine for longer. It will be more comparable to Honda's IMA system - in functionality, not design.
