Default removing rear speaker cover for SC 2nd gen?

I have a 97 SC2 and have been trying to remove the rear speaker cover to reline it.

The only video i've been able to find is by richpin for the SL model but it looks like the procedure is different for the coupe models.

Anyone know where i can find videos/information on this?

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Fold the seat backs down, remove 2 push pins they revel and pull the cover off. You might have to remove the C-Pillar covers too.

I have a 3rd gen and just replaced my rear speakers, and it was a little more involved than just those two push pins. I'm not sure how different it is from the 2nd gen, though.

There are two push pins that are revealed when you fold the seats down. Then there are two more on each side that I believe are hiding under the C-pillar covers. I think there might also be two push pins on the top of the deck. I also had to pop off the covers for the car seat anchors and flip them up.

The alternative is what the bozo who previously owned our 97 did - pry off with a crowbar and reattatch with duct tape.

Not the most sanitary version.

You mentioned relining the speaker cover so I thought I would share another idea that might appeal to you as it is simple.

"Saturn Project Duplicolor Rear Window Sash"

I will be using this method to restore my rear window mat in the future and if I dislike the results I can still use the cover as a pattern to make a new one.
