Default 95 SL2 engine misses and dies randomly

Ok, I am driving along just fine, perfect, like new, suddenly the engine starts losing power, misses, and if I try to let it idle, RPM drops way low and motor stalls out. And its hard to gas it, hit the pedal and it misses it will start revving up then let it idle and it misses and dies. Then I restart the car immediately, a little slow to restart, cranks twice as long as it should, 3 or 4 secs and it is fine. No missing, idles smoothly, good power and top end. JUST LIKE IT NEVER HAPPENED! Then you can drive 20 miles and it is fine. Or a few miles later the missing cycle starts again, it always ends with the car engine dieing. Giving gas does not help it it keep running, let ff gas it dies.
Sometimes the Service engine light will come on as well.
The light always goes off when it is restarted. I can always tell when this die cycle is starting, you will be driving along normally maintaining 30 to 40 and the car feels like it starts missing, then you have to follow thru, let it die and restart, problem goes away, perhaps even for the rest of the trip.

ALSO, the car temp gauge climbs past midway if the AC is not running the engine cooling fan.
I have not heard the fan come on without the AC running and a year ago I replaced the temp sensor 2 wire on the block with a genuine brass Saturn part.

It seems totally random event.

You have an S series car, you get much better answers if you post in the S series forum.
