Default greasing outer tie rod ends

I just realized that the new ones need to be packed. I've never packed anything with grease before, so I'm unsure of how much I should cram in there. Do I just go until it start to ooze out of the dust cover/boot?

You pump in good EP-2 grease until the boot JUST starts to swell. If you get in too much just pinch the boot and wipe up the excess. A little squeezeout will not hurt anything.

And a nice swivel head on your grease gun will help. I have Mobil 1 loaded in my gun, and have a 90 degree head on the end of a flexible hose. Gets me into some of the tighter spots.

And for the more A/R among us - pop a zerk fitting cap on it and it'll be perfectly clean the next time you grease it (it keeps dirt from collecting on the outside and being forced inside when you add new grease).

A rag works as well and does not fall off.

On a side note. I have found that the Amsoil grease does not separate as bad as the Mobil-1. Have used both of them for quite a while.

Using Redline CV2 here... No complaints. RL is always a good product!
