Default Power Steering Pump

I have a 1996 SC2 and my powersteering pump pulley went out yesterday. The bearings got so hot it rounded out the pulley. I was wondering if my pump is still good. The bearing is still on the pump and it turns with ease. I am confused because about an hour earlier of this happening i started to lose powersteering, so i added some fluid and it seemed to clear up. So is there anything i should check for or look for to see if my pump is still good. And i know there is probably a thread about this somewhere but i tryed to search it and it didnt work. Thank You

I've seen that before, but it was because the pump had no fluid, and it basically seized up and the pulley stripped right off the splines. You might be better off just finding a new pump at the junkyard, because it might cost less than a new pulley. Maybe, idk.

I would replace the pump with a good used one.

Last month i replaced my tensioner pulley, and it was completley shot, i talked to a few people and they said because it was not used to the belt being on so tight that it wore out the bearings, but i dont know if i believe that or not. I think i am just gonna go to the junkyard and get a good used one.
