1997 SL
Default 21 years old!

My SL, not me 1997 gold SL, bought it new July 7, 1997. Now has 195,000 miles. From Saturn of Escondido CA.

A few hiccups the past couple of years but still runs like a top. Original engine and 5-speed innards, alternator, rear wheel bearings, A/C system, computer, power steering, vent system. Burns almost NO oil, mostly thanks to Mobil 1 and sooooo many oil changes.

A million thanks to this forum, which I discovered in 2008 and special thanks to the S-series experts- You know who you are!

I bought it, intending to keep it 20 years. Now it just keeps running.

As my high school math teacher said, "Onward, onward, never looking back"

...
97 SL. Born 6/5/97, bought 7/7/97
08 Burgman 400
02 Haro MTB- can't kill it, still trying though

The Schofield Kid: Yeah, well, I guess they had it coming.
Will Munny: We all got it coming, kid.

REWARD EXCELLENCE!

Default Re: 21 years old!

My congratulations for keeping it still. Mine is 18 years old and also keeps rolling with its 210000 miles. Although it is another model, an ASTRA, it is very similar to motor and components. And I will continue having another few more years, at the moment it has not given me failures and I will keep it while I endure.

Are you sure its an Astra? The Astra was only around for 2008 and 2009. If you have a Saturn from 2002 you either have a Vue, S-Series, or L-Series

Since the member is in Canada, there's a remote possibility for it to be a 2002 Astra if it was a VAUXHALL model.

294,000 miles-it keeps on rolling!

Mike NW, In four years, your Saturn will qualify for classic car status in many states, if not all of them.
