Default Re: Running additional wires through the clock spring

Iíll have to pull one from a 3rd gen and one from a 1st gen at some point. I grabbed 1 from a 97 and one from a 99. Both had 6 conductors on them.

Remember-

Resistance increases with length conductor

Current tends to increase in DC circuits, whereas more steady in AC...
but i suppose the heater-resistance element will be the current limiter.

"extra wires next to the bomb circuit"
delicately phrased!

More resistance in a DC circuit will draw less current.

Agreed.
But more resistance means more dissipation In that wire.

He was using a 'carbon' heater ?? That might not involve
initial 'inrush' current, which would be good.

Nothing new to add, but this project will definitely be on hold for a bit. Carbon tape apparently ships from Russia and according the website would take 2-4 weeks to arrive.
