7E8 -7E9 Codes
I just went shopping, and in the middle of my trip these codes appeared , I erased them , and the CEL immediately came back on.

Found this explanation...Can you select them on your scanner to go deeper into the menus? Try a different scanner?

Thanks for the response....I think my brother has an in-depth scanner, I can access....but I have had a stalling issue for 6 months now, and feel I have a good hunch what it is... I will replace the crank sensor soon...any day now.... when I get the time....

If you decide to change the crankshaft position sensor without pulling codes, be aware there is a relearn function that needs to be done.

im..... I replaced crank sensor, and now have code PO315 ....CRANK SENSOR NOT YET LEARNED .... now over 200 miles of work commuting , and engine still stalls and coughs , but not nearly as often....but even just once can get you into a rear end accident....but anyways,,,,tried the 3-4,000 rpm for 20 seconds, and nothing seems to work.... I have a GM dealer a mile up the street from me....I would take it there if they could snych CKP with ECM.
CEL is always on.... What do you think ? GTSRider |

A capable scan-tool is needed that has relearn CKP variability functionality. The GM dealer would be able to do it. It's a pretty simple procedure.
The relearn procedure is mainly for misfire detection so I suppose it could affect drivability. https://www.brakeandfrontend.com/tec...set-procedure/
