S series junkyard autopsies/who says small cars are unsafe?

This SC1 has had the quarter window removed. 156878 miles on the odo.

I suspect that this SL1 rear-ended a semi trailer. The damage looks horrific, but The air bags did not deploy. It looks like the hood, and A-pillars absorbed most of the impact. The damage stops inches in front of the steering wheel, and all of the space where the driver, and passenger sit are intact. I believe that they were fine.

This wagon has had its valve cover removed, and the window has been smashed. 106881 on the odo.

This SL1 also looks like it rear-ended a semi, but it did not hit as hard, and the A-pillars held up better. Is there a problem with brakes on 3rd gens? I saw 2 in the same day that rear-ended semis.

This SW2 has some damage to the supporting structure to the rear bumper, the hood with a plastic thing has been removed, no signs of serious damage. 82228 miles on the odo.

This SL was in a minor accident, it looks like it may have even still been drivable (is it was day). I would have repaired it.

This SC2 has had the rear, and quarter window broken, it is piled high with tires, someone was clearing out the yard. What is this buildup that forms on the headlights of 3rd gen coupes? It is not just condensation.

This SL1 has had its windshield smashed, I suspect in the removal of the hood. The bumper cover is also detached from the passenger fender.

I do not know what happened to the driver side doors, but I do know that they do not look right.

This SL2 does not have any obvious signs of damage, instrument cluster was missing, I now have the valve cover.

This 1993 SC2 had gone 233162 miles, and does not seemto have any obvious damage, although someone bent the hood by slamming it on a conical air filter that may have been used on it. The trunk latch was malfunctioning, and marks on the cracked (likely after it arrived there) windshield said "no AC", the pop-up headlights are glass, and I do not believe that glass fades in the sun...

That last SC2 was at "colorado auto and parts", which my dad calls "colorado auto salvage, they had a black friday event where anything and everything you could carry would cost $75, I got a few radiators, valve bodies, cooling fans, AC condensers, PCMs, a stock radio, some AC lines, and the valve cover from that SC2. This SL1 had no obvious damage to it, digital odometer.

316881 miles, again, no obvious damage, accept for a scuff mark on the bumper cover. Automatic, I took everything listed above from this.

This SC1 hit something in the corner, not very hard, but enough to dammege the suspension.

This SC2 has taken some kind of damage along the side of the hood, and into the windshield.

This SL2 has the roof dented in, as well as damage to the hood, and trunk. maybe a tree fell on it.

I went to UPAP aurora a few days ago, there were inly 3 S series, only 1 of them was an automatic (the SL2), it had gone 224506 miles, and the valve cover was hard to remove due to silicone sealant that was used on it, some of the bolts were original, but others were not. No signs of accidents.

Next was an SC1, its passenger rear window broken, 170900 miles on the ODO, the driver side rear wheel was a donut, and the owner manual appeared to be covered in dried soda. I think it was stolen, the tire blew out, and a functioning (although manual) car was scrapped. See the WJ on the other side of the fence? I drove that...

This SL1 may have been in an accident, but it looks more like someone tore up some of the panels, and dented in the roof. (I saw someone do it to an ion while I was inspecting the SC1)
