Default Newcomer with transaxle computer programming question(just change transaxle on 94SL2)

As the New kid in town, I want first take this opportunaty to say hello to the whole community of this forum/web site . I just change my transaxle after 170000 miles on my 1994 SL2 (sedan, 1.9 motor, 4speed-automatic, twincam). Considering the past charges and towing I have done with my car... well I cannot really be mad for what have happen to me. The replacement transaxle that was put on my car was an identical product (a used saturn OE) as the old one; to be pricise, a transaxle that had 84000 milles on it and that had the same caracteristics as the old one. My specific question is the following: In this context, do I need now to have my transaxle computer reprogram ???????? The transmission guy that have done the transaxle job on my car is telling me that it would be a very good idea to have now my transaxle computer reprogram by the Saturn dealer (an only by the Saturn dealer). However, the Saturn dealer on the other hand is telling me that, if I have replace with an identical product, computer reprogramming shouldn't normaly be required. What should I do ? Somebody have advises for me ?

Welcome...I'd say if the Saturn dealer doesn't want to do it, don't do it. You can expect it to shift a little strange for a week or two while the computer learns the transmission after that you should be fine.
...
There is nothing more frightening than ignorance in action.
