P0301 code...
Turned cold again, so the Silver Surfer tossed me a P0301 code.
Did this last year when it got cold, reset it, tossed some Techron at it, stayed away until tonight. Still runs good, code came on just after startup... Doing wireset and plugs tomorrow, egr valve is next. Anyone got hints / suggestions on how to clean the egr?

EGR is not likely to cause a 301. Plugs and wires is a better bet.

Are you getting a high idle, around 1,200-1,300rpms when the engine is warm?

I just had the P0301 code. It was persistent. Symptoms were mild, but I had 1200 RPM while stopped at a stop light, engine warm.
Checked the plugs...fine. Checked the plug wires...fine. Replaced the OEM inferior spark coils...no change. Replaced the ICM...no change. Sprayed carb cleaner near the cyl #1 intake area...Bingo! RPM dropped a little. So, bad intake manifold gasket. Replaced it yesterday and the SES light was out shortly after starting and the idle is normal between 750 and 950 RPM. (Took my brother and me 5 hours! But we were also watching a Ducks game and taking our time). So at least test that intake manifold gasket with spray cleaner first before you buy a bunch of stuff...unless those items need replacing anyway of course.
