I just purchased this car and the only thing wrong with it is the sunroof. It looks like its the plastic piece in the track. The drivers side goes up a little but won't go back. When I tried closing it, I could not get the DS to go all the way down. I pulled the glass off, got both tracks all the way down and put glass back on. Now the rear part of the sun roof is lower than the body line, but the front is even. Is this right? The tracks are all the way down and all the torq bolts lined up fine, but it just doesn't look right. I just don't want it to leak, until I get it fixed. Thanks

What is slightly lower? Mine, before I started messing with it was level all the way around. Since I took the glass off and made sure everything was at its lowest point and put the glass back on, it is about 1/4" to 1/2" lower in the rear than the body line. If that is ok than I will be fine with it. I just do not want it to leak. Other than that, do you think that $5K was a good deal on this car with 52,000 "granny" miles on it?

IIRC the sunroof glass is adjustable.
I believe there are three torx screws on each side that attach the glass to the arms that hold it. Loosen these (not all at once), move the glass and retighten them. They are a bit difficult to get to though.

I tried moving the glass up and tightening the torq screws and it is still about 1/4" lower than the body line.

a 1/4" to 1/2" lower will leak as the glass panel weatherstrip isn't in contact with the hole in the roof. it can't be.... |

The car is approaching 10 years old and was an economy car to begin with. If this is the worst problem on the car, consider yourself lucky! The sunroof problems on an S-series can be much worse than some body line issues.

1/4" to 1/2" lower is more than simply body line issues, there's something wrong.

It is about 1/4" lower in the rear. I took the glass off and made sure the track arms lowered all the way. They look right on both sides when in the down position. I may have to take it off again and see if there is something I am missing. Can anyone post a pic of their sunroof for me for reference on where it sits when all the way down? Thanks
