26 Quad Driver output fault

32 EGR system fault

You probably need to change the EGR valve and the EGR solenoid.

ok cool
what is a quad driver?

I know what the egr valve looks like, but what or where is the selinoid located,,,is there any way to test the selinoid to see if its bad?
Ill attach a pic of under my hood so you can point out this stuff for easy understanding.

EGR valve solenoid is located on the valve cover, back hump right side. It's bolted to the VC above the EGR. Trace the vac line from the EGR back to the solenoid. As for testing it with out the scan tools to run tests the only real way that I know of is to measure the resistance across the two terminals on the solenoid. Should be about 40-50 ohms, approx. These solenoids usually fail when hot. Best time to check is when the SES light is actually on. If the light won't come on for you pull the solenoid off of the car and sit the metal part of the solenoid on the exhaust manifold for a while to get it good and hot and then measure the resistance. Don't have the car running or you 'll have melted solenoid.

great i have a multimeter so what are the ohms if the selinoid(sp?) is failing, zero or highter then 50 ohms? It seems to make sence cause the light only comes on when car is hot or just before the temostat opens or sumting like that. Cause it goes of for a few mins then comes on again and stays for a bit again. Its on about 30% of the time I drive the car on longer trips.

It generally fails to very high ohms. Millions of. If it's anything more than a few hundred I would be suspect of it. Also if it's extremely low you may have a problem there as well. But usually it's the heat that makes it go to high resistance.

A bad EGR solenoid will trigger the code 26 as well as the EGR code. Replacing the EGR solenoid will most likely kill both birds with one stone...
