well the wifes ion has had the engine light on for a while now. but nothing seemed to be wrong to her enough to tell me about it. today she came home saying it was jumping and hesitating when she drove.
I just took it to autozone and got these 3 codes. po171 probable cause- if bank one and two codes set together suspect fuel pressure or MAF sensor. -ox sensor defective -ignition misfire -fuel injection problem po446 probable cause -purge or vent selonoids defective -check connector and wiring -fuel saturated vapor canister -failed evap vent selenoid po304 probable cause -ignition system fault/spark plugs/ ignition wires,coil -vacuum leak -injector fault -high or low fuel pressure so to me it sounds like from her explanation its seems to be misfiring. so 304 seems to be where to start. checking plugs and some injection cleaner. I searched and found they are having injector problems but this car has 58,000 and is out of warrenty. So i cant just drop it off and say fix it. ![]() any feedback on similiar situations or which way i should go please post up. |

id say replace the sparkplugs clear the codes and wait for the light to come on again..

I'll second that. I'm on my third set of plugs at 90K kms. Plugs are cheap, if you need a reason to justify changing, price a coil pack and ignition module, the module usually goes first if the plugs go south without immediate attention.

sounds good. ill start there. thanks guys. can i clear the codes on this car the same as others by just disconecting the battary for a few minutes.
havent looked into it yet. are the plugs ontop or hidden somewhere. easy to get to like the older saturns. |

right between the cams. No injector problems have been noted on any site I've been on, so I doubt it applies to our cars
...

new plugs and shes back up and running. engine light even turned off. good job guys
