Thank you for your help fighting SPAM!

I just wanted to post a quick message thanking everyone who takes the time to report posts in the forum. Reporting posts is a HUGE help in my battle against spam accounts and the content that gets posted. The past few weeks have seen a big increase in the number of spammers joining the forum and posting non-Saturn material. I am actively working to filter this type of activity from the boards. There's a delicate balance between making it difficult enough to participate in the forums that the spambots go away, but not too difficult -- I don't want to make it to hard to post questions and answers. I am open to any ideas you guys have or may have seen on other forums.

I implemented a number of changes at the beginning of the week that seem to be working. The number of new spam accounts dropped dramatically this week. A bulk of the spam posted recently was from accounts created before the changes were made.

Please bare with me as I work to fix this issue. I hope to have things back to normal real soon... but in the meantime, please keep reporting posts!

FYI - I made some a some additional adjustments to the spam filters tonight as a result of some new spam activity today.

I just wanted to say "thank you" again to everyone for continuing to report posts. Spam posts are always a nuisance, and reporting them to me directly is the fastest and easiest way for them to be deleted from the site.
