1997 saturn sl1 windshield wiper problem
I have a 1997 saturn sl1. The wipers will not work in low, intermediate or high, but do work in quick release mode and also in washer mode. what could the issue be?

Could be some of the integral resistors/contacts on the control stalk switch are toast, or it could be the relay/controller that's integral with the wiper motor. This motor-resident controller reads the voltage from the control stalk wire and decides what wiping to do -- intermittent, regular, fast, based on the voltage.
Anyone have some quick ideas on how best to narrow down the problem to one component or other????
