I have a 2000 Lw2 with the v6 and the "sport package" without sunroof.
What is all needed to lower one of these cars ? Is there any coilovers available? Does anyone know if the Opel Vectra 2 wagon coil overs or a body kit will work ? |

My guess, maybe asking the Opel Vectra forums overseas.

Our L300s are based on the Vectra, making L300s a foreign import with mods for USA bumper and lighting standards. Over the years, I've found our forum members sharing their knowledge with parts not available here, are sold in Europe suggesting most parts are interchangeable.

The back comes down easily but the front struts are too long from the factory. The fronts struts from an Ion are shorter but I have not personally experimented with them yet. If you drop the rear you will need adjustable lower arms to get the camber correct. The toe sets at the leading end of the trailing arm. Most alignment shops do not have the correct information on these cars and will try to shim it. I like suspension travel since my cars are daily drivers but I do not like the factory rake on the sedans.

The Saturn is based on the Opel Vectra B model. Only use that designation for comparison purposes. Later Vectra models are NOT compatible.
It's also worth pointing out that the suspension, braking system, etc is also shared with the Saab 9-5 and the Saab 9-3. The Saturn was marketed as a safe, family car so had little appeal to modders. That distinction was given to the Saturn S series. However, in Europe, the Opel and sister brand Vauxhall Vectra B's were the staple of the company car fleet and sold by the truckload as Reps cars. That meant in Europe there is a healthy aftermarket for tuning these vehicles, whether suspension or drivetrain/engine mods. So you should do research on the Vectra B, Saab 9-5 and Saab 9-3. That may give you the results you want. Here's a link you may find useful: https://www.ebay.com/itm/272833298603 |
