Mad P0455

2004 Saturn Vue AWD

I'm throwing this code after getting a new after market gas cap. The cap appears to seal tightly but I still get the code.

Does anyone have a evap system schematic so I can determine where to start troubleshooting???

Thanks

BCP ... See two service manual extracts - one describing P0455 and the other is hose routing diagram.

I am now getting a P0455 code when I went to the local Auto Zone, I did replace the gas cap but its still lit. Is the hose routing for the "04" the same for a "05" to use as reference?

The diagram is basic enough to pertain to all Vue's.

Many have found auto store gas caps are hit and miss.

You can check with nearby GM dealer - depending on your VIN and mileage - you could be eligible for a free cap (PN 10372866), or other repair services.

See the screen shot for basics. I'll email the complete document if you PM an email address.

I rarely visit forum but respond to private messages (PM). PM creates email to phone & please include email address with question. Avoid using Visitor Message feature ... I almost never check those.

Oh my ... well, you could see if dealer has gas cap with PN 10372866. I ordered one from GM parts direct a year or so ago and no light since.

I returned the cap I purchased from auto zone, cleaned the gasket of the original factory cap and also cleaned the area of the fill drove for about 5 miles and the light went out lets see for how long.

You can get a new OEM cap at a GM dealer for around $20. That seems to be the best route in most cases.

I bought an Autozone cap because the original would barely click anymore. That's when I started getting SVS AND SES lights. Bought the GM cap and solved the problem.
