Default Anyone have an extra power steering bolt?

I need 1 8mm 1.25 x40mm power steering bolt. One of mine has the head sheared off. I don't have a scrap yard anywhere near where I live and I don't know where else to get one. Anyone have one they could send me? I'll give you a couple bucks for it if you want.

Please help

Also, how hard is it to attach the reservoir to a new power steering pump that doesn't come with one?

have you tried ace/true value/do it best?
a good hardware store will have a good selection of....hardware
and usually, if not, they'll know where you can get a better selection of fasteners. you're a step ahead of most customers by knowing size, pitch and length.

I could probably get a regular bolt at a hardware store, but it wouldn't have the same head (also it wouldn't have that black coating on it like the one that was in there) as the one that came out (with a sort of washer shaped head). Would that matter?

sounds like a flange bolt.
the big difference is the shape, which can be replicated with a bolt and a washer, but flange bolts are also often i higher grade of steel (12.4 instead of 10.2)
the Ace i used to work at carried them, but not all do.
check your phonebook/google for local fastener stores. around here we have a chain called Tacoma screw. they carry/can get basically any fastener under the sun. i bet there's someone like that around you even if your hardware store doesn't have what you're looking for.

Thanks dorisSL, flange bolt, that was the key. Much easier to find when you know what they're called. My local Advanced had them. They were in a pack of 4 - M8-1.25x40mm. Class 10.9 so they are actually stronger than the originals.

Thanks,
matt
