2005 VUE 2.2L
Default Road Noise

Hi, I'm new to the forums but I have a 2005 Vue!

I'm looking to decrease road noise and have looked at a few different materials and methods and I figured I'd ask you guys for help. I'm not looking at spending a ton of money but I'd like to lower the noise as much as possible. If it helps I'd like to keep the cost under 100-150.

Thanks in advance

Buy some CLD tiles from sound deadener showdown. Buy some carpet jute. Save money for better tires.

That's basically the best way to cut down on road noise. I'd say the tires are likely the best investment in terms of reducing road noise. But CLD tiles and carpet jute can so a huge amount of good (until you noise comes from a poorly designed A-pillar and low quality windows as opposed to very thin body metal).

Okay, Where would you put the tiles? Doors? Wheel Wells?

Yup, wheel wells and floor help the most. Cover the floor and stuff with carpet jute.

There are a couple threads on quieting projects. A popular one (not not listed on the sound deadener supplier shops) is a material called reflexite (or something). I believe it's a home construction material similar to an insulated and reflective style sun shade for your windshield.

I did a quick search and I didn't find anything. Can I get a hand?

Okay so I'm going to buy some CLD tiles for the doors and floor and then use a spray on bed liner to sound proof my wheel wells a bit.

Any suggestions on bed liner brands?
