2003 VUE 3.0L
Default 2003 Saturn Vue BCM

I have a 2003 Saturn Vue, V6 with all options. Started having issues with gauges and power steering not working intermittently which eventually turned into total loss of PS and gauges. Car ran fine and everything else worked. Found a used BCM with exact same PN and replaced with 30 minute passlock procedure. Car started up fine, gauges and PS working, but now have no communication with ABS and traction control. Any ideas?

I'm wondering if matching part numbers is all that's needed.

I'm no BCM expert but seem to recall if you bought new BCM from dealer they'd use original VIN number to determine which options were delivered with Vue and would program according - along with vehicle mileage.

Could your replacement BCM be from a 03 Vue without ABS?

I don't know if any were built without ABS but there's lots of smart 3.0 folks who will probably know.

...

I'm thinking you need to find someone with a Tech II . . .

Far2Grumpy, I had the same idea and found out that ABS and TC were optional in the 2003 Vue so possible the vehicle the BCM came from didn't have those options. Does anyone know if a BCM from a vehicle that didn't have those options can be programmed with a tech II to make them work?

New update. So after doing some research I determined that my 2003 Vue does not have ABS (J41 Service Part Code and only 2 wires on brake fluid reservoir). So now I am assuming that the BCM I received was from a Vue that had ABS and the ABS light is on because it can't find it. Is their a way to disable the ABS light or program the BCM not to look for it?

I'm pretty sure you just need a reprogram.
