Christian Wiessner from Reuters: Penske Automotive Group plans to complete a deal to buy Saturn from General Motors by the end of September, the founder and chairman of the No. 2 auto dealership chain said on Wednesday. Roger Penske also said that he was considering using the Saturn brand for vehicles sold outside North America, but was focused first on the U.S. market and potentially Canada.

Canada is left aside for the moment. This will explain why in less in one year 3 Saturn Saab dealers closed in the Greater Montreal area, leaving only 5.

I have been working at a saturn facility since 1990,if i understand this situation correctly MR. Penske does not currently own any Saturn facilities, nor does he have any intrest in owning any in the future.MR. Penske will distribute vehicles and parts to Saturn facilities. The sooner we recieve different vehicles than the three G.M. says they will continue to build for two years the better chance we have to stay open. The truth is we will not share any of the fantastic benefits of the Penske company and will continue to work for the present facility owners.

Current info for West-Island Saturn is that the owner is not keeping the Saturn brand. They don't know if anyone will pickup the dealership.

Service and Warranty repairs are currently done at Plaza Chevrolet .

So the net is no change in structure? GM did not own any dealerships and now Penske will not own any dealerships. So Penske just replaces GM as the dealership supplier.

You have been with your present Facility since 1990 so things must not be as bad as your last sentence leads us to believe. The beauty of Roger Penske purchasing Saturn is that the Saturn Facilities will remain open if the owners choose and employees keep their jobs. Hopefully the Saturn Facilities will become GM's worst nightmare.

thats what i'm getting out of everything i read.
with Samsung / Renault supplying Penske...
