![]() It is an Elantra SE. It is as stripped down as you can get for an Automatic. Which means it pretty much like my loaded 99SL2 except steel wheels and no cassette. Mine was built in January, so Cruise Control came standard. Before that you had to go up one level. I am pretty much at the mercy of Hyundai. There is no OldNuc of Hyundai-Forums and the car is so new some parts are not readily available. So, like it or not I need to depend on the dealership until the warranty expires. A Civic and Corolla were out of my price range and personally, I think the newer models are ugly.

![]() Nice looking car! Styling reminds me a lot of the Ford Fusion from the front.
I think I mentioned, I sat in a 2013 Elantra and was reasonably impressed. Glad the oil filter thing was a troll (didn't trigger my BS meter, either) because I have about two years worth of Purolator filters stocked up (from sales and as filler items) ... I'm not worthy to grovel in the shadow of Signmaster's wisdom 11/2016 red 2002 5 spd SC2 151k DD 7/2010 Craigslist white 1997 SC2 project 12/2008 eBay silver 1998 SL2 5 spd 102k, now 201k+ miles

Peter Schreyer of Audi fame works for Kia and Hyundai. So there is German influence. The inside is not as busy as the 2013 Elantra. They put a lot into the 2017. It is more refined and structure does not flex as much. The six speed transmission with three modes: Normal, Eco, and Sport works well. In Sport mode I have more than enough power.
