If mostly full should be fine. If it starts just drive easy until you can get at least 1/2 tank of new gas into it.

Here it is modified:

There is a braided wire connecting the fitting on both ends of the tube. So the end fitting doesn’t drop off and probably to eliminate static. One end, shown. The other end is a barbed/threaded fitting to connect to some type of pump.

On J-45004-1, there was a floppy dangle of tube on the one end that must have been specific to the vehicle it was made for. It did not work with an S-Series, so I removed the floppy dangle of tube.

The stiffness of this curley tubing in J-45004-1 is like polyethylene tube at something like 90 degrees Fahrenheit. The curlieness of the tubing does not permit it to lay down on the bottom of the fuel tank very well. That is probably why there was a floppy dangle of tubing at the end.

Guessing here, I would bet a length of fuel line tubing from the tank to the engine on an S-series would shove down into the fuel tank of an S-Series. Use a small, long-neck funnel to get past the metal flapper at the the top of the filler neck.

Obligatory safety warning:
Do not drink or gargle with gasoline. Extinguish flames. Put down your gd smart phone for once.

The trap port at the bottom of the fill tube is lightly spring loaded and the hose must be stiff enough for the brass end to push it open and curve down into the tank. Most of the hose should be relatively stiff. Other end connects to the electric fuel transfer pump.
