Default What is this button looking thing?

I was wondering what this is, I feel like I started to have a evap leak around the time I have pressed this but couldnt really find out what it was, any thoughts? Is it something to do with detaching the tube from the panel?

It may be silly for me to try to identify what's seen in the picture, but I'm going to take a stab at it. It appears that the item seen at left is the fuel fill opening for the gas pump nozzle. The "button" appears to be a locating pin to guide the fuel fill piece correctly into position.

If I'm wrong, well...that's how it goes...
